A few weeks ago I bought some Skubb box organizers from Ikea. As it turns out, they’re the best thing that’s ever happened to my dresser. My socks have a place, and they stay there! So much order! I just knew my mom would want some too — she’s always asking where I get my clever stuff — so yesterday I picked up a set for her and one for my mother-in-law, too.
The horrible daughter part? I decided these would become a Mother’s Day present. The cardinal rule of Mother’s Day gifts is that they must NOT be a housekeeping item, right? Not to mention one that costs less than ten bucks. But as long as we were already going down, I figured I’d add a note: “For all those times you dealt with my messy drawers.”
I am despicable. But my mom-in-law laughed out loud. I’ll let you know how my mom reacts tomorrow.
