Today my mom managed to doorbell ditch us and leave half a dozen psychedelic Valentines on our porch. She apparently left them at the front door, then hobbled around to the back door and knocked with her cane. As soon as we let her in, she said, “Hey, I think your doorbell just rang!”
How my kids love their grandma. She’s actually not much of a hippie, so I think she picked these cards for the cool morphing picture effect… they change from flowers and peace signs to psychedelic swirls and back again. Trippy. Also, she knows it wasn’t Valentine’s Day today (this was just the first time we’ve met since then.) But the whole effect of it all had us smiling. And our favorite part is that we don’t actually have a doorbell…
