“Single Mom for a week”

Hearing this phrase would be less a punch in the gut if it weren’t coupled with a sense of isolation from those who might be more supportive if they understood.

I’d posted about this last night and got a link to a great letter on single parenting. In addition to the rather obvious stuff like having some financial support,

… there is a date you can look forward to on the calendar when he will return, walk through the door and take part of the load from your tired shoulders. It might be hard to be without access to your spouse- but you know he loves you and your children and that he is coming home.

Hugs to my single parent friends out there.
